Objective: To inform others of facts about human disease, to explain social and ethical implications, and to create, display and explain information to classmates.


Activity: Students will research and construct a pamphlet that includes: symptoms of disease, genetic causes of disease, genetic testing, population/risk, possible treatment, genetics screening techniques, cost, social and ethical implication.

Objective: For individual students to review Punnett Square problem and information using a game format.




Activity: Students will use one or all games to review basic information and Punnett Square problems. These games use soccer, basketball and the game show idea deal or no deal.



Assessment: The student will use their score from the games to show success.

Objective: To inform students about facts about DNA-related discoveries and the scientists that did the work. To create, display and explain information on the time line.





Activities: Students research and construct a time line that stars from the middle of the 19th century and projects into to the near future. Appropriate pictures will be drawn or placed on the time line to help emphasize historical facts that include scientific discoveries, industrial applications, and current events that may be related.

Gadgets

Gadgets
Four out of five of my gadgets had a science theme. They include top news stories, weird or odd science facts, and National Geographic POD. The last one is a game called Color junction. I picked this one as it may get students to my blogger, and then they may stay longer to view the other areas.
